Wendy started her career working for British Rail, processing payroll and setting up of and running assessment centres. She soon progressed to working within the security industry for The Corps of Commissionaires as a Regional HR Manager and for 7 year’s gaining valuable experience working within the logistics industry for Iron Mountain in a generalist HR capacity, working very closely with the senior management team ensuring that core business objectives were met.

Wendy recently worked for the children’s charity (TACT) as an interim HR Manager. Managing a team of 3 and providing HR advice & guidance to the Executive team on a regular basis becoming a highly regarded member of the TACT team.

Wendy was until recently the in-house HR manager for THE Somerset House Trust in Central London. Providing general HR, personnel and recruitment advice, running payroll as well as successfully implementing an appraisal system into the Trust.

A very committed, organised, friendly and down to earth person, Wendy delivers HR initiatives within the relevant timelines that the client specifies without fail. She is also able to work with all levels of staff within an organisation and will tailor the materials she presents depending who the target audience is.

Wendy prides herself on being able to easily adapt to any environment she is working in and building up solid relationships with key stakeholders in the business.  When she initially joined Iron Mountain as HR Manager she spent a lot of time working very closely with the key senior leaders ensuring that she understood the operational side of the business and ensuring that any HR initiatives that she introduced were fully aligned with the business objectives. She was awarded “best newcomer to the company” within 3 months of joining in recognition of the excellent relationships she had built up during this period and the fact that she had demonstrated she was a subject matter expert in all areas of HR advice which had led to her being a trusted business partner with the senior team.

Wendy has vast experience of conducting consultation meetings with employees who have been given the option to transfer across to a new employer under the TUPE Regulations.  This is often a very stressful time for employees and Wendy prides herself on building up a good rapport with individuals and ensuring that they fully understand their rights under TUPE.  Wendy has produced a TUPE checklist for Line Managers which she has successfully introduced into a number of organisations she has worked for which ensures that all the appropriate paperwork and information is communicated to staff in these types of situations as well as ensuring that there is minimal risk to the business of any claims being submitted to an Employment Tribunal at a later date.

Being SHL qualified, Wendy has set up and run a number of assessment centres for customer interfacing and senior management roles. This includes administering psychometric tests and occupational personality questionnaires to large groups of up to 20 people at a time. Running group discussion and role play exercises as well as conducting criterion based interviews.
